Custom Turned-Edge Binders
Rigid board covers wrapped and lined for a coordinated presentation finish.

Specifications
Choose the finish together with the board and wrap; decoration must suit the assembled cover.
| Layer schedule | Board caliper in mm, wrap and lining gsm, grain direction and finish. |
|---|---|
| Joint geometry | Board panels, spine width, hinge gaps and turned-in allowance. |
| Sample stages | Decorated case followed by a loaded binder with fitted hardware. |
| Board | Board build-up and spine components matched to the approved construction. |
| Wrap & lining | Printed paper or applicable wrap with coordinated inner lining. |
| Mechanism | Ring format, capacity and fixing position specified separately. |
Reference formats describe the contents, not a guaranteed manufacturing range. Finished dimensions, material grades and tolerances are agreed against your drawing and sample.
Wrapped Board
Turned-edge construction wraps a surface material around separate rigid board pieces and finishes the inside with a lining. The wrap accommodates corners, spine joints and repeated opening. Board thickness, joint width, wrapping allowance and lining coverage work together; specifying a board weight alone does not establish a durable hinge.

Artwork Alignment
A flat design becomes front, spine, back and turned-in areas. Keep critical lettering away from hinge channels, corners and wrapped edges. Foil or embossed details change appearance across a joint, while a heavy finish may behave differently when folded. Review the decorated case before fitting the mechanism so registration issues remain visible.

Case Approval
Examine the unloaded case for square corners, flat panels and smooth joints. Then fit the mechanism and test the intended insert pack. Tight joints can pull a cover open, and insufficient clearance can let sheets rub against lining. Keep a cross-section or bill of layers with the approved sample to prevent substitutions that alter the cover feel.

Manufacturing & Assembly
Cover preparation and printing are followed by mechanism positioning, fastening, assembly and packing. The approved sample defines the cover and mechanism combination.
Corner wrapping, exposed edges, lining alignment, hinge movement and mechanism security.

Packaging & Protection
Protect wrapped corners and cover edges with smooth interleaves. Pack only after the covering and adhesive have stabilised, with support around the mechanism.
Record the unit pack, pack quantity, carton dimensions and label positions. Check a packed sample with the intended contents before approving the shipment arrangement.

What to Check
Corner wrapping, exposed edges, lining alignment, hinge movement and mechanism security.
Presentation manuals, sample books and premium private-label filing.
Record the reference contents, inspection method and acceptance criteria with the approved sample.
Buyer Question
How should I specify board weight?
Record caliper and grade as well as grammage. Density varies, so gsm alone does not reliably describe stiffness or completed case thickness.
