Pocket Count
A display book holds documents in fixed clear sleeves. Forty pages can mean twenty two-sided pockets or forty pockets. Record pocket count and usable viewing faces separately, and state whether each sleeve receives one sheet or two back-to-back sheets. This avoids a substantial difference in paper capacity and finished bulk.

Opening and Clarity
Top-loading and side-loading sleeves change replacement access and retention during carrying. Judge clarity against small print and dark artwork. Sleeve seams reduce usable space; folded leaflets, laminated sheets and photographs need different insertion clearance from office paper. Confirm the pocket film and opening using actual contents.

Spine Assembly
Sleeves accumulate thickness at their attachment edge. Open the first, middle and last pocket to check viewing and replacement access. Inspect the pocket strip and cover attachment for alignment. A loaded sample shows whether the cover is wide enough and whether pages project beyond it while closing.

Manufacturing & Assembly
Artwork and cutting layouts define the panels, pockets and folds. Printed or converted components are assembled and checked for document fit before packing.
Pocket transparency, seam security, page sequence and insert fit.

Packaging & Protection
Keep the clear sleeves flat and protect their welded attachment. Check sleeve order before packing and avoid pressure that creates permanent creases.
Record the unit pack, pack quantity, carton dimensions and label positions. Check a packed sample with the intended contents before approving the shipment arrangement.

What to Check
Pocket transparency, seam security, page sequence and insert fit.
Portfolios, reference manuals and sales presentation sheets.
Record the reference contents, inspection method and acceptance criteria with the approved sample.
Buyer Question
Does a 40-page book always have 40 pockets?
No. Some suppliers count both faces of a sleeve. State pocket count explicitly with an illustrated diagram.
