Upright Storage
A magazine file holds publications vertically, often with sloping sides for visibility. Record the tallest and deepest item plus combined spine thickness. Flexible magazines and rigid catalogues behave differently. Use the intended mix in approval rather than a stack of identical lightweight sheets.

Stability and Retrieval
Base width and side support determine stability, especially when partly filled. Labels and finger openings need to stay accessible on a shelf. For wrapped board, joints and bottom construction affect shape retention. A collapsible version requires an assembly method and a reliably secured base, not just a matching exterior outline.

Storage Inspection
Remove front items and return them at the rear of a loaded holder. Look for edges catching printed covers. Lift only at intended handling points, then inspect the base. Packing should support tall panels so they arrive square. Review partly filled as well as full samples because leaning publications shift the load.

Manufacturing & Assembly
Components are cut and formed to the approved dimensions, then wrapped or finished where applicable and assembled into the agreed desk format.
Standing stability, base joints, usable width and surface finish.

Packaging & Protection
Protect the sloping edges and front opening from compression. Use a packing arrangement that maintains the assembled shape and protects label fittings.
Record the unit pack, pack quantity, carton dimensions and label positions. Check a packed sample with the intended contents before approving the shipment arrangement.

What to Check
Standing stability, base joints, usable width and surface finish.
Office shelves, reference collections and branded desk programs.
Record the reference contents, inspection method and acceptance criteria with the approved sample.
Buyer Question
Why test a partially filled holder?
Gaps allow publications to lean, shifting weight and changing stability. A full sample alone does not represent everyday use.
