Sheet Dimensions
A3 is 297 x 420 mm, A4 is 210 x 297 mm and A5 is 148 x 210 mm. US Letter is 8.5 x 11 inches, equivalent to 215.9 x 279.4 mm. These values describe sheets. They are not a statement that a particular cover, folder, binding or sleeve is stocked or manufactured in every format.

Product Geometry
A binder requires ring and hinge clearance; a pocket consumes width at its seams; a hardcover adds overhang around trimmed pages. Mounted artwork extends beyond its paper. Record the usable internal envelope and finished outside size separately. When more than one format must fit, check the widest and tallest references rather than selecting only the larger nominal label.

Orientation and Measurement
State width and height with portrait or landscape orientation and identify the binding or opening edge. Measure stack thickness with dividers, covers or interleaves included. Keep units consistent on drawings and label any inch conversions. Approval should use the actual contents, because a mathematically correct sheet dimension does not capture protruding tabs, rounded device corners or seam bulk.
