Regional Names
Pocket folder and presentation folder often share the same sales-folder construction. Planner and diary overlap for dated scheduling books. Exercise and composition books share classroom-writing intent, although cover and binding conventions vary. This site consolidates those terms and asks buyers to specify the physical construction instead of assuming vocabulary defines the product.

Binding Terminology
Spiral means a continuous coil; Wire-O describes a twin-loop binding. Hardcover and softcover describe the cover structure and do not identify every detail of page attachment. Ring capacity is different from spine width. Turned-edge describes wrapping material around board edges, with joints and lining completing the case. Each term should be connected to a drawing or sample where interpretation matters.

Order Records
A dieline defines cutting, folding and panel geometry. Caliper is thickness; gsm is mass per area. A SKU identifies a commercial variant, while a bill of components lists the parts and counts within an article or set. An approval sample establishes agreed characteristics, but exceptions must be recorded. A reference size is a comparison format, not an automatic statement of factory availability.
