The selected route is recorded against the approved product construction.
Foil, embossing, debossing, lamination and UV effects change a surface, but they also interact with folds, joints and later assembly. Define the exact area and intended visual or tactile result. A finish approved on a rigid panel cannot automatically be carried across a flexible hinge. Where several effects overlap, establish their order and registration before tooling is released.

Provide separate artwork for the finishing operation and identify critical edges or lettering. Foil coverage, relief detail and a soft-touch surface have different acceptance characteristics. Tooling dimensions and ownership belong in the project record. Confirm whether an existing tool will be reused or a new one made, and retain the approved revision so repeat orders do not silently change the design.

Examine the finish on the completed cover or article, including corners and high-contact areas. Check coverage, definition, registration and surface condition against the reference sample. Assess adhesion or rub behaviour using an agreed method suitable for that finish. A visual inspection does not establish a universal abrasion rating, and one successful material combination does not prove compatibility with another substrate.
Ask which finishing operations are available for the selected material and how they connect to cutting, wrapping or binding. Site evidence should identify the relevant process, setup reference and inspection stage. Any outside finishing must be disclosed in the agreed scope. This lets the buyer evaluate the real manufacturing arrangement without treating a catalogue of decorative effects as proof of in-house equipment.
Material, decoration artwork, position, intended finish and reference sample.
Send a drawing or reference sample alongside quantity and delivery requirements. Material compatibility, applicable finishes and any subcontracted operations are confirmed during quotation.
Foil coverage, emboss/deboss definition, surface consistency and adhesion where applicable.
Agree the reference sample and relevant acceptance points before the production run. The finished article is also checked for fit and function after downstream assembly.
