The selected route is recorded against the approved product construction.
The pattern converts usable dimensions into panels with seam allowances, folds and joining details. A pencil case, tote and padded sleeve need different allowances because their seams and layers differ. Supply actual contents and access requirements before fixing outside dimensions. A device screen diagonal or a fabric swatch cannot establish the final fit of a sewn article.

Handles, straps and closures transfer force through specific attachment areas. Identify intended filled weight, carrying method and reinforcement in the pattern. Lining and cushioning must not obstruct a zipper or expose rough hardware to the contents. An attractive stitch pattern is not a tested load rating; any claim needs evaluation of the finished construction under a defined method.

Inspect panel matching, seam consistency, thread ends, closures and interior contact surfaces. Load the actual contents and operate every access point. Check where seam bulk reduces usable space and where reinforcement changes flexibility. Record revisions on the pattern rather than relying on a verbal instruction attached to one sample. The approved article should represent the material layers used in production.
A factory review should identify cutting, preparation, sewing, reinforcement and final inspection for the requested article. Ask how patterns and size variants are controlled and which steps occur at the site. Confirm any specialist outside operation in the quotation. Production photographs or visits are useful when tied to the relevant product construction, revision and inspection plan.
Finished and internal dimensions, material, lining, closures, pocket layout and intended load.
Send a drawing or reference sample alongside quantity and delivery requirements. Material compatibility, applicable finishes and any subcontracted operations are confirmed during quotation.
Seam consistency, attachment points, closure operation and fit.
Agree the reference sample and relevant acceptance points before the production run. The finished article is also checked for fit and function after downstream assembly.
